Another gift of a tree wall decoration *

Hi all - I do hope you all had a good Christmas day feasting and festivities.  Now for my last Christmas decoration specially made for a colleague at work in her favorite colour - purple.

I used many different trimmings on this as I did for my daughters one shown previously.

Now lets all look forward to the New Year 2017

Chirpy, chirpy Christmas *

Hi all - just a quick post this time and to share with you a bird house I altered for my Christmas display.

I covered the house with left over christmas backing papers and then painted with media paint that can be wiped back.  I am afraid only a few areas can be seen and mainly on the roof area.  was worth a try and did not let it deter me to carry on.  I used a plastic glittery tree for the side, painted it roughly with same media paint and decorated it with a few random beads and gold pearl stringy stuff from my tin of bits and pieces.  I had a spare robin and sliced and diced him so he would sit just right against the house.  I used berries, cones, bells and fir tree branches from previous decorations I bought from a pound shop.  I just love pound shops lol.  Now for the pics.

Christmas deco for the tree *

Here I am again with another tree decoration.  This I made for my Community Psychiatric Nurse - bless her she needs cheering up after seeing me lol.  Anyway this was built round part of coat hanger as was the other one.  Covered with wadding, ribbon and handmade flower made out of wider ribbon,  I am cutting this post short as have other projects to blog on here - yes all to do with Christmas - now there's a surprise lol.

Now for the pics

Coat hanger candy cane *

First of all Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to one and all

For this project I was inspired By Angela Holt over on You Tube where she used a metal coat hanger to make a candy cane decoration.  I didn't have a full metal hanger so had to make do with a shorter hook from a plastic hanger.  I used smaller amounts of wadding to make mine a little smaller and daintier with my own spin on it.

I used hook, very fine batting cut into thin strips, satin ribbon in cream, gold and brown. A handmade flower using ivory satin, tassle and dangles from a lace I own,

Thank you for taking the time to take a peek at my candy cane - why not have a go it was fun.

Mid Month Tutorial

Here we are over at Rhedd's Creative Spirit with our new mid month tutorial.  For this month I decided to alter a Douwe Egberts coffee jar.  These are so very versatile and just love altering them.

First of all I sprayed the jar with hairspray to give it a little tooth and painted over the top using acrylic paint.

I then heat embossed randomly using gold and verdigris embossing powders.  Once I achieved the effect I wanted I then used matt varnish over the top.

I then decoupaged the outside with a paper napkin, I tore out separate images and again randomly placed them.  I then heat embossed more verdigris over and around the images.

I sat for quite a while and pondered as to whether I should do more to this piece and decided that this was as far as I  wanted to go with it.
I do hope you enjoyed my project.  Please join in with the fun over at Rhedd's Creative Spirit this month as we really enjoy taking on board all of your creativity.

Hugz always

December over at Rhedd's Creative Spirit *

So here we are in the magical month of December and I still havn't managed to put anything festive on the table - except for the turkey perhaps lol.

I am probably coming across as boring due to altering alot of bottles and jars lately and here I am again with another jar lol.  Sorry but I just love putting them together asnd am getting quite a stash together and am selling them off in my facebook shop and may just transfer them over to my Zibbet shop, KrafterZion where I sell embellishments - thats the plugging over.  Now to big up Rhedd's Creative Spirit - get on over and join in with this months fun challenge.  As always it is Anything Goes as long as Mixed media no papercrafts.

Here is another jar - this time with a rustic feel.  I painted it using cream base and then brown mixed media antiquing cream ove rht etop, wiped some back and then varnished.  I used hessian and lace to embellish.  I made the flower and used the string from fraying the hessian for the bow around the lid.  See no waste here lol.

Now for the pics and why not head on over and join in with our challenge.

Hope to see you there

Thanks for dropping by and hope to see you real soon.

New challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu *

For this months challenge for the pink team is anything Christmas - either a card or even a gift.  Well I had to make something for my daughters new flat.  I bought a really tacky gold vase, a 99p red plastic frame and a wine bottle.  I used gesso on all of them and the painted all using dark gray chalk paint.  Added a layer of crackle medium, a light gray chalk paint and finally varnish.  Really simple projects but effective.  I am sure she will love them - well she better do lol.
