Birthday present for a friend *

Yes I do have another one lol.  This present is a little more substantial than the box from yesterday - took alot more time too.

I made a hangy thingy using grey board, wadding on top then covered in natural calico.  I then used some web lace stuff on top.  I stuck my photo down, and added trimming to frame it. I finished it off with hangy pearl string at the bottom.  I used lace from my wedding dress in the corners.  I used a cotton lace for the hangy thing, down the sides and on the back.  I also made the flower from the same lace and used an old earring for the center.  I gathered another lace for the bottom with more biscuit trimming over top.  I cut out three tiny flowers from some other lace I had and placed pearls in the center.  Couple of feathers added and all finito - done - dusted!!

Can you tell I like the words ''Hangy and Thingy'' lol

Now for mother overload in pics lol

Thats it from me right now.  Thank you for popping in and hope to see you again real soon.

Gift box for my friend - yes I do have one! *

A friend of mine has a birthday coming up and am totally at a loss at what to give her so I thought I would do the packaging first and then buy the gift to fit and a very small gift it will be lol!

I found a small wooden box in my stash which I gessoed and painted cream.  I wiped DI around the edges to age it.  I then used papers from my stash to cover the sides, top and base.  These were distressed and inked.  I used various stamps for the sides.  For the top I used a Fernli design frame which I finished off with alcohol ink and brushed over using glossy accents.  I covered the oval insert with the same papers and stamped another quote.  I covered it with a thick layer of glossy accents to give a glass effect.

That's it all done except for buying the gift and making a card lol

Thank you for joining me today and please call again sometime.

Fishy tins *

Today I am posting a box/photo frame made by using 2 sardine tins, papers, glossy accents, wooden frames from Fernli Designs, grey board for the covers alcohol inks and box hardware.  I am a little gutted as running out of hardware and cannot for the life of me remember where I got them as they were quite cheap.

Now for the pics

Please do call again - it will be nice to see you here!

Shabby Hanging *

Good evening everyone - Hasn't the weather been lovely this weekend but so cold in the evenings.  Still can't have it all eh!  I have had my 2 year old twin grandchildren this weekend (accompanied by my daughter, thank goodness) and in between I have been quite productive in my craft room.  I have made several flowers for up and coming projects - not sure what though lol.  I have managed to finish my heart canvas - previous post and put together this heart hanging thingy!

I used a mdf heart and wadding on both sides and covered with natural calico.  I used 3 different laces, 2 doilies and 2 of my own flowers made today using scraps from my ever filling box lol. I added a shabby calico bow, pearls, feathers and a picture I had laying around.

That's it all done - simples!

Now for pics

Thank you for visiting and please do come again.

Wings of love! *

And a very early good morning to you all

I managed to finish another project I have been dipping in and out of this past week.  Another mixed media canvas.  I will list the items used below

Polystyrene heart
string stuck onto heart
modelling paste and stencils
black grey paint
color washes
primary elements
loads of inka gold
For the wings wire and mod podge, then painted with primary elements - inspired by Fi Jennings (Jennings644 on You Tube)

I do hope you like my project - I am pleased with how I managed to spread out the heart shape using the inka gold.

Now for piccies!

That's it for tonight

Art dress *

After seeing this tutorial by Angela Holt on You Tube I just has to give it a try and what a trial it was lol.  I got into such a mess with the glue, black velvet and lace with underlay of plum netting and I didn't really get the effect I wanted but I was relatively happy in the end - I used glossy accents over her torso etc and affixed diamante in her hair, ear, neck and velvet bodice (I couldn't capture the velvet all that well either lol).

Then I got to work on the canvas background and painted randomly using grey, white and black.  I stenciled modelling paste randomly and sprayed using dylusions and color washes then a little inka gold.  I glued torn netting round the edges of canvas and 3 butterflies from a napkin to finish it off ( one hiding at the bottom under skirt)

Now for overload - sorry!

Hugz always

Trawling challenges *

and I found a great challenge over at IIndigoblu with the theme of Off the edge.  Normally I would make something and then find challenges that fit but this time I wanted to join in over there as I have a pile of their stamps and it seemed a good as time as any to use one lol.

So out come Elizabeth Bennett - I just love her.  (only cos I am n love with Darcy lol)- well Colin Firth!

I used a La Blanch flourish stamp as well as Miss Bennett. - stamping on the white topper and the backing of card.  I used a script stamp using a paler color. I brushed distress ink over the top and the out come my H2O's - another fave medium for me.

I can't remember who made the sentiment stamp so you will have to forgive me that one lol.

Sorry for overload of pics and the quality.

Thank you for dropping by and why not head on over to this fab challenge

Hugz and Nighty night - just realized the time lol xxx
