Another project complete.......D

Good evening everyone

What a lazy day I have had in my PJ's popping back and forth to my craft room.  I completed a birthday card earlier and this evening I felt like making something else.  I had a small shadow box, bought from Crafty-Emblies, sitting made up on my table and ready to be altered.

Out came the gesso and black paint for the base.  I had in mind to make a time project so out came a clock mask. I mixed modelling paste with a little green patina paint and covered the back and sides using the mask.  (I did not take pics of sides.. I forgot!)

I then sprayed with cosmic shimmer mist to give it a lift.  I also sprayed the inside of box and all the Crafty-Emblies embellies.  I adhered various metal charms of clocks inside the cubby holes.  As you can see I have added metal photo turns to the clock faces.  The alphabet tiles also from CE spell out Time Flies/Tempus Fugit.  I think I have covered it all lol.

Here are the pics

That's it from me tonight as am now tired lol.

Goodnight all

Another just because make.........D

I have not made a card for an absolute age but tonight I wanted to put one together.  Maybe it is because I received my new stamps through the post yesterday.  That'll be it lol.

I am not a lover of making men's cards either so determined I was to make one!

The stamps used are by Katzelkraft.  I do love their stamps and am getting quite a collection of them.  In other words I buy far too many lol.  I can hear that statement echoing throughout the entire crafting world!

I used cream hammered card as the basis.  I wiped over the hammered surface using TH distress ink.  I then stamped the plane and car over the background.  I stamped the man on his bike on another piece of inked card and distressed the edges.  I cut round the stamped car and placed over top the base edge of the layer.  I used my trusty old Birthday stamp to finish it off.  As the French would say ..... Voila!

I hope you have enjoyed your visit and will pop back again sometime

Challenge project .... D

Hi all

It has been a while since making a project for the Outlawz, Paper ala Mode due to being so darn busy with grandchildren.  Has been great though!

There are no longer any themes. From now on it will always be ANYTHING GOES

I chose to make a door sign for my craft room and I was lucky enough to have a wooden plaque from Crafty-Emblies laying on my table screaming at me to alter it lol.

I embossed tin foil using a bark folder.  Made the tin foil really delicate so had to be real careful adhering it to the plaque.  Once dried off I used black acrylic paint over the top and wiped away to make it look more realistic and aged.

I used quite a few emblies and gave them the treatment of TH distress embossing powder to give them the rusted metal look.  A tiny piece of chain was then added.  I found some chipboard letters in my drawer, I painted and embossed them.    I found an old lock in my toolbox and decided to use it to symbolize the locking of the door lol.  The flower is made from metal foil, embossed and cut from a Paper Artsy die.

I do hope you have enjoyed your visit and I also hope you join in with us over at the Outlawz, which is now an ANYTHING GOES challenge blog. I would also like to inform you that Crafty-Emblies is now an ANYTHING GOES challenge blog.  You now have more challenges in which to enter your fabulous creations.  I hope to see your masterpieces posted in both.

Just because I felt like it!... D

Hello everyone.  Hope you are all enjoying the weekend.  I know I am.. craft is the name of my game lol.

I had just finished a large project which will be going live in a couple of weeks and wanted to do something different.  I love skeletons and have recently acquired Andy Skinner's Skull mask - I just had to break open that packet and get stuck in lol.  It also serves as a birthday card for one of my sons.  They just love this kind of thing instead of a card.
I had a collage frame lying about.  I gessoed and then painted it with black acrylic.  I lay the mask just as it is and used modelling paste mixed with bronze acrylic paint to cover the entire mask.  I wanted the 3 different skulls in the corner. I stamped and copper embossed my dancing skeleton above the skulls.  The edges of the frame was stamped and heat embossed using spider and web stamp.

I randomly wiped an ink pad down the left hand side of the frame and embossed with copper.  Whilst it was still hot I placed yellow beeswax pellets and mica fragments over the top.  I heated it to melt point and left to dry.  I sprayed over the entire project using various metallic sprays to give it all a lift.  I then used quite lightly heather rub n buff over the skulls and then used mica powder in gold, white and bronze to give a subtle effect.

Now for mother overload of pics!

I do hope you have enjoyed visiting my blog and I hope you will visit again real soon.

You Have Captured My Heart.........D

Hello everyone

It is time for another monthly challenge over at Crafty-Emblies (CE) and the theme this month is

Anything goes

I decided to challenge myself and make a mobile ... not a phone either lol. Firstly I had never made one before and secondly I could not make up my mind theme and shape/form it would take lol.

I sat staring at my table and spotted two boxes I had prev bought from CE and then the bulb shone brightly in my brain.  Hanging shadow boxes with lids in between.  I did not envisage how long this project would take but hey I enjoyed it.

I did all the basic preps using gesso, paints etc on all.  I stippled, crackled, used stone effect using different mediums etc.  You will be able to see and recognise the techniques I have used.

The first lid from which it would all hand from I used a stone effect on both sides, one smooth and the other peaked using different shades of browns, creams and then sprayed with shimmer mists.  I then adhered random words on both sides.  That part was easy lol.

For the first box I decided to make it as male as poss.  I stamped my Kanban Mannequin on the base of box and heat embossed in a spice colour.  I then added colour using brush and distress ink from the pad.  i then randomly stamped using a barbed wire stamp.  For the trimming I used some stiff mesh, cut it randomly and wiped over with pumice stone DI  to give the effect of wire mesh.  I finished the edges with chain from an old necklace.  I did the same with the other side after decoration inside.  I stuck lots of cogs and chain on the background and then stuck a penny farthing and 2 cogs around the sides to make it more 3D.  ever seen someone sitting there holding onto a piece of wood in place for ages lol.  I used glossy accents and did not want it all leaning over lol.  Round the outside edge I stamped cogs and then added more cogs.  Phewwwwww! wipes my brow, all this typing is making me thirsty lol.

For the next part I used the second lid.  On one side used letters from CE, You have captured my heart.  So on the reverse it made sense to collage lots of hearts. I used different techniques on these also, triple embossing, distress inks and stamps and sprayed with water, glossy accents molding paste and crackle embossing paste using shimmer mist along the way.  I used the triple embossed tall heart as the focal point.  I then used copper coloured wire to encase and capture the hearts.  I think in the end the wire took over in the focal point department. It took alot of my patience lol.

The final box was to be feminine so lots of flowers, lace and pearl trim was used.  The female mannequin by Kanban got it's chance to see light of day lol. Again embossed and coloured. Back ground randomly stamped with a swirly stamp.  the inside of the box I used many more Emblies, female themed of course. birds, birdcages, dress form, pram and buttons.  I am running out of Emblies lol and I like to site and hold things in place to dry!

The best part of all was wiring them together. Voila finished at last! My word it is heavy however that in itself made it turn just nicely.
I hope you enjoyed sharing my project.  It would be great if you could pop on over to Crafty-Emblies challenge blog here to join in the fun.  We would to see your projects to give us inspiration and you never know you may just win the £10.00 prize to spend on Emblies.  I think I need to win it now LOL.

Challenge for the Pink Team.......D

Yayyyyy - challenge time at Eclectic Ellapu.

This week is being hosted by our fabulously talented NanaConnie and her chosen theme is

Birthday

I have made a birthday tag for this one.  I painted the tag black, used crackle medium and then topped off with dark pinky colour mixed by myself and never to be repeated lol.

I stamped the tag using Kanban's Moulin RougeI love this set, sassy!

Once stamped I covered in glossy accents to seal the inks.  The flowers, feathers, gem flourishes and lace/ribbon comes from my stash.

I hope you enjoyed your visit and that you will drop by again real soon.  Also why not pop on over to Eclectic Ellapu and join us in the challenge. The DT inspiration is amazing as always so well worth a peek.  Perhaps you could leave some love for them... they do deserve it.

Challenge at Outlawz....D

Where does the week go?  It only seems yesterday posting last weeks challenge.  This week is my choice of challenge and it is an easy one for everybody

I know how popular it is and I thought why not!!!

I have altered 3 items and the reason being is a work colleague is retiring in a couple of weeks and he is very music orientated.  I altered a desk tidy and memo block holder from CRAFTY-EMBLIES and a small plaque from Sarah Wright on facebook.

For the desk tidy and memo holder I collaged music paper I had printed off, distress inked it and varnished.  I attached music embellies also from CE.  The plaque I simply painted white, wiped a little distress ink over it and then stamped with music score.  The letter tiles are also from CE.

This was quite a quick project as no need to get fancy and floral for a man lol........

Hope you like my inspirational project and we would love to see you over at the Outlawz, Paper ala Mode.

A Simple card was needed .........D

I needed a card for my stepmother so I just had to make one. I have avoided making a card white on white but I felt like making one.  In fact making a card these days is very very rare for me.  I needed to challenge myself and I did just that.  No getting messy and staying clean was a nightmare lol.

I cut out various die cuts by Spellbiders, Memory Box and Cheery Lynn from white card and arranged them on the card front.

I used 2 small birds from Crafty-Emblies and painted them pink.  The diamante flourish had to be dusted off when taken from my stash - LOL.

That was real easy to talk through in comparison to my usual blurb lol.  Not many pics either ;-))) So here goes.  Thanks for taking the time to drop by and hope you pop back again in the future.

Ring a Ring of Roses......D

Happy Sunday everybody

Today I am showing you a piece I have been working on over the weekend and it was a just for me project.

I had several chipboard body forms and decided to make a 3D version and also wanted to try light and shabby chic.  Still headed for the darker roses though lol.

I covered each body form with modelling paste and stamped using random rubber stamps into it.  I used several layers of paint ending up with the dry brushing technique.  I made the base out of 2 layers of chipboard, using the same technique as the body forms.  I then stuck them to the base and together to form a triangle.

As you can see I have used flowers, ribbon and trim from my stash.

I made the hat out of chipboard and again covered with paint, trim and flowers... oh I must not forget the feathers
lol.

Now for overload of images.  Hope you like them!

I am laying this where my mothers ashes have been scattered for Mothers Day. My mum died a year ago, 2 days after MD.  I made it for her. Hope she can see it.

Thank you for taking the time to drop by.
