All that Jazzzzzzzzz-D

Hello everyone

I had a good day today. I went shopping with Paula to a craft shop in Farnborough and spent money then when I got home I was straight on the internet spending more on craft items.  I need to get back to work to stop spending except I don't want to be there lol.  The funny thing is for the project I am about to mumble on about, I used stuff I already had and not the new.

I made a tag for a birthday as we always need them in reserve and I do have a few birthdays this month.  Another reason for making this is a fellow crafter, Chana who is also one of my design team for Eclectic Ellapu has started her own challenge blog - Nicely Done Designs and the challenge this week is to include the folowing in a project so I thought I would give it a go and mention her new blog.

Glitter

Brads

Tag(s)

Kraft Paper

Rubber Stamp

I used chipboard for the tag, painted stamped and clear embossed using music stamp.  I then stamped musical instruments over the top (not that you can see all that much of it lol)

I used distress ink over the tag.  I printed a couple of Jazz pics and mounted them on Kraft card.  I added text to the Jazz player.  I stamped the music over another piece of kraft card and then clear embossed a pianist from the same stamp set.  I fixed the images to the tag using a brad I covered in glamour dust and two photo clips from my stash.

I stamped some ordinary seam binding using musical clef and notes and used distress ink on top.  I wound the binding round the tag and then through the eyelets for the tag hanger.

I do hope you like this project.  It feels to me like a clean and simple project as not as fussy as my usual work.

Anyway thats it for today

The only

worthwhile reason to get up today.... the couple of hours cuddling my lil possums.......

HAPPY CHRISTMAS ... Bah Humbug!!!!!! lol

Early Christmas morning...and what am I doing? - D

Well you have guessed it.  I have just come out of my craft room from making a birthday tag for a friend.  Oh by the way... HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL.... HAVE A GREAT DAY!

For this tag I gessoed the chipboard and then painted in pink with cream over the top and slightly crackled it. I did some light stamping of flowers and butterflies however not all that visible.

The lace and ribbon are from my stash as were the flowers.  The butterfly is a spellbinders die and the trailing gems are from my stash..

The tiny frame with the sentiment inside is a style stone which I covered with  picket fence crackle paint and then lightly dusted with tattered rose.  I filled the inside with glossy accents (which is not quite dry yet)  will put an updated pic of that when it has dried.

The image I printed from Magic Moonlight and used the picket fence round the edges..  I used rock candy on the pic, flowers and butterfly.  The pearl flower I made myself out of beads from an old necklace.

I think I have it all covered now.  the reason I am rushing is so Santa doesn't catch me up... well he wouldn't leave me anything would he.LOL!

Right here is the evidence of madness!

Anyway like I said Have a great Christmas and kick back and relax when you have the chance ... yeah right!

Hugz to you all

2 Projects again - a card and a gift - D

Tonight I have made another card, which I think may be my final one.  I used an image from the internet and the frame is a cheery lynn die cut.  I used glossy accents over them both just to give a bit of a shine.  I stamped using a music stamp by Darcies and used distress ink over the top.  I then distressed a piece of card and used the inks over that also.  I made the sentiment on word.  I needed a quick and easy card as to be honest I am almost Christmassed out!

For my final project for tonight I put together a tray like shape using chipboard.  In fact it was a pretty crude way to make a shallow type box.  I lay the chipboard pieces together and used masking tape to hold them whilst I lay scraps of white paper with pva glue.  It worked. I then used my fave tin foil effect.  Just love it.  i then printed alot of family photos from my pc and collaged them on the bottom.  I then mod podged the entire item.  I made this for my father to sit on his table next to him so he can place his keys, pens, book, glasses etc and get to see my family at the same time.  I just hope he likes it.  I think I will get him a book token to go with it.(just in case!)

Well that is definitely it for me for today.. well early morning!
I hope you like my projects and feel free to visit me again real soon.  Oh I forgot to mention that my challenge blog has an Anything goes challenge for another 2 weeks. - ECLECTIC ELLAPU.

Very Quick Christmas Cards - D

Hi everyone.  I do hope you have finished all your holiday preps... I have not really started lol.  I am afraid everything has been a rush for me... lots of life things getting in the way but ho hum... no doubt I will get it done in time for next year LOL.

Today I had to throw a couple of cards together for my new Granbabies.  they were not due for another few weeks so not prepared for it.  So today I coloured the baby images by Mo Manning.  I made a mistake there too.  I should have bought the lil girl one for Lili~Mae but too late now.  I just hope the babies won't notice! I did make the congrats card but guess what I forgot to take pics.  See head all over the place.

Anyway these are quite quick and simple.  the babies were coloured with promarkers with some glamour dust on the baubles. The background is a snowflake embossing folder and the silver snowflakes were from my stash.  The sentiments were produced in word.  Told you they were simple. They certainly are not my best work but at least I got them done in time.

Here are the pics. I hope someone likes them lol

Yayyyyyy Good news and a project! -D

I am unsure as to you all know that my daughter was pregnant with twins.  She gave birth to them yesterday 3 weeks prem to the 37 week gestation period for twins.  They were born early evening yesterday and I am going to share a couple of pics with you.

Lili-Mae 5lb 5.5 oz

Harvey 4lb 8.5 oz

Are they not so so gorgeous.  I was in with my daughter while she had C-Section and watched everything.  I thought I would just share the clean pics.  I am still over whelmed with it all and my heart is just bursting.

Happy Christmas to me lol x

Right now onto my project which I can share with you all.  I made it for a friend, Paula, for Christmas and she now has it. I made a wall hanging for her craft room incorporating Christmas. I painted the background in a mixture of red and green acrylic paint.  I used steampunk christmas stamps which I think are by Sam Poole.  I used cogs and clocks from my stash and the colied wire are the stems from my flowers painted silver. The lock and key replace the star lol. The holly leaves and berries are also from my stash and I wired them together into a wreath. The poinsettas were lifeless and bright red to start with but I used red paint and manipulated them to breathe life into them.  The chain came from an old necklace to finish it off.  the back compliments the front without embellishments.
Hope you like it as much as my friend Paula does.

Happy Christmas everyone

Year of the Snake..D

Hey everyone,

It is that time again for another fab challenge over at Creative Card Crew.  The challenge set this time is to make a project following the theme of Red and Gold, year of the Snake, Asian or New Years and it will run for 3 weeks.  Yes an extra week to make your project....yayyy I chose to make a Shadow Book Card this time.  Just wanted to make something different.

I used a set of Chinese stamps I forgot I had (ooops lol!) and embossed with gold.  I matted and layed the card for dimension.  The image of the snake, who I have named Hissing Sid, was found on the net and cut out.  I used gems for his eyes and covered him in rock candy as I did the zodiac circle.

For the edging I gold embossed black card and used deckle scissors to give it a bit of an ummmpppphhhh!  The inside are more of the stamps at the back of Hissing Sid and was misted with red and gold. I used gold rub and buff all round the edges of the faux book pages and around the edges of practically everything.

Well I think that is about all I can say about it.....Get your oxygen tanks ready because here is the drowning of all the pics lol.....Now why don't you all head on over to Creative Card Crew and join in the fun.

New Challenge and 2 Projects.D

Hey all

This week the challenge over at my blog - Eclectic Ellapu is ANYTHING GOES.  This will be running for 3 weeks until 5th January and is a joint challenge with both teams giving you inspiration with their really beautiful projects.

I myself have made yet another tag for the challenge and also an altered mirror.  The mirror is a prezzie.  I keep saying it... when will it end... oh yes the 25th December lol.

First off the tag was stamped using a set made by Hampton Arts (I think!)  Got too many and have not catalogued them as well as I should have lol.  I used distress inks and paint as the background.
The bow and the tag hanger are made using ribbon from my stash.
I cut out the hearts using a die.  I painted them red with a little rub n buff over the edges.  I then used crackle glossy accents on one half of both hearts and the other half plain glossy accents.  I am hoping you can tell the effect it gives in the photo.  I used my cropadile big bite to punch through the hearts and tag.  The silhouettes were cut using a Tim Holtz die and also received the same treatment as the hearts.
The sentiment came from the stamp set.
I hope you enjoy the pics - the mother overload that is.

My next project is a cheap old mirror from the pound shop in town.
The surround of the mirror was not wide enough for what I wanted to create so I cut out strips of chipboard and attached it to the frame to widen it.
I then used gesso and cream acrylic over the top.
I stamped onto tissue paper using some fab new stamps I have acquired recently by Katzelkraft using sepia archival ink. I tore the tissue before applying onto the frame using pva and water.  Once dry I dabbed and smudged distress inks over it to give the appearance of oldy worldy lol. I apologise for the photos... difficult taking pics of mirrors!

I do hope you have enjoyed peeking at my projects and I also hope you will be hopping on over to ECLECTIC ELLAPU for our 3 week challenge of ANYTHING GOES.  We love to look at your projects as not only do we hope to give you inspiration we enjoy being inspirated by you.
