Teddy Bea - Baby Rocking Horse

I am back (told you I wouldn't be long) and on a roll lol. To be honest I do not have the name of this image to the forefront of my mind so if anyone out there able to solve my dilemma please leave me a comment and I will rectify this straight away.. thanks.

Anyway we know it is Teddy Bea mind you is it Teddy Bo wearing pink?  I am confused!  I coloured this image using promarkers and prisma.  The backing papers are definitely from Raspberry Road.. I swear they are.. Honest Guvv! I kept this one quite simple.  I expect you are wondering as to why this has been used for a Graduation card.  Well the mum wanted a horse and thought this was cute.  Her daughter just graduated in Equestrian 'ology' or something or other lol.  Anyway has that answered your questions lol.  I used a meshy type ribbon lace and again it was in my stash.  I forgot to mention in the last post that I used a spellbinder grommet banner for the sentiment which I produced on the computer as I have this one.  The corners are diecuts from Whimsey Dies.  The inside compliments the front... going back into overkill with the overused standardised statement lol.

Anyway that is definitely it for me tonight... If I create anything else this weekend I will post as usual.....

Baby Girl - Mo Manning

This evening I have been making a couple of cards as a commission.  I have a few to catch up with and you know the story.  You get the order way back in March giving you deadlines of July, August and they never get done.  I also have a problem with making something to specifics.  I feel as though my creative juices are not flowing naturally.  Tonight I felt like making a steampunk or Vampire card and ended up doing not one but two cutsy cards lol.  Anyway enough of the moaning I thought I would share my work with you all.  This one is a beauty of a Mo Manning image.  I coloured her using promarkers and prisma pencils.  I used pink memento around the edges of the image.  I added a touch of glitter, ribbon, teddy button and square doily from my stash.  The flowers are from WOC. The butterflies I punched out and glittered them up and added tiny gems to them.  The papers are from Raspberry Road.. I think lol.  Not that you can see much of it!
Here are the pics and I hope you like them.... more to the point I hope my customer likes them LOL. (if she doesn't I could always use it as a recycled project!)The inside compliments the front (not said that in a while lol)

Anyway hugz for now and will be back real soon to post the other one actually sooner than you think............Elaine xxx

Altered Handmade Flower and Hardware Finding

Evening all

Well tonight I have done something different to show you.  I decided to use a spellbinders flower die spliced in Kraft card.  I smothered the top first in tacky glue using my fingers to get good thick coverage.  I then burnt the glue using a candle flame.  As soon as the glue turned black I then manipulated it until the wet glue underneath  was showing and then repeated the process.  When all glue burnt I manipulated them further to give a lumpy texture.  Whilst still warm i gave them an initial gentle curling for a little shape. I gently wiped off the charcoal and smeared some gold leaf over them.  I then buffed them up and curled the petals again using a cocktail stick to give them a little shape. (I have to tell you this is quite time consuming, messy and quite hot and a few of the petals caught alight in the process lol) I then used the same process on an ordinary purple brad.. now that did get hot hot hot! The brad was fastened through the middle and voila my very own steampunky flower.  The Hardware finding is part of Tim Holtz collection and used the same process all over again... and yes you guessed it after several potential house fires my little project was complete LOL.

I hope you enjoyed reading this.  Maybe one day I may master the art of holding my camera and taking pictures of the process instead of trying to write it lol.....

NB.... THIS PROCESS IS NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 51 UNLESS UNDER CLOSE SUPERVISION!!!

Have fun and enjoy.

Dare - Mo Manning

Just a short post today.  I felt like making a quick male card.. well truth of matter is I have had this image for a while now and felt like colouring him up lol.  I used copics and prismas and only had to use one image to do it lol.  I used distress inks round the edges. I used postal stamps on one of the Kraft card backings and a postcard embossing folder for the other.  I used memento inks on those.  Told you it was a quick post.  I have to get out in the garden in a mo to set my bench legs into concrete.  Not looking forward to it I can tell ya lol.

Anyway here are the pics of todays quickie!

Thanks for taking the time to peek and hope you will all drop by again real soon.

Love and hugz to all

Waiting for the Parade - Mo Manning

This card has been made specifically as DT inspiration for the 2000 Member Party and the theme is  ''Where in the World'' over at The Outlawz.  There are loads of games and activities over there and lots of sponsors and prizes.

I used another of Mo Mannings gorgeous characters.  I coloured her up using copics and prismas.  I found the background US flag, Union Jack and quotes on the internet and printed them off.  The ribbon came from my stash and I made the bow.  That was a very quick run through of the ingredients of my card.  And I am not going to over load anyone with pics wither for a change LOL.  Why not hop over to the OUTLAWZand join in the fun...

The Alchemist - SBS

Hi all

Well today is the start of my challenge over at the Outlawz. Paper ala Mode.  Yes thats right my challenge and am so excited.  The challenge is Anything Shabby Chic, Steampunk or Vintage.  I wanted to create something special and this is my idea of special lol.  Probably not yours but then we can't all be the same huh LOL.

I bought the Alchemist from Simply Betty Stamps and enlarged it to A4 (Digi stamp that is, I did not try to stretch a rubber stamp to A4 LOL ) The quality of the image remained intact when enlarged so well pleased.  I coloured him up using copics and prisma pencils and guess what.. I actually made a note of all colours used and guess what again.. I am going to bore you with the long list lol... here goes:

Copics - E 08, 15, 25, 31, 33, 35, 37, 47, 53, 57 and 59 and a little bit of W1

Prismas - 940, 941, 943, 944, 945, 946, 947, 948, 1004, 1019, 1031, 1080, 1081, 1084, 1085, 1094 and 1099

How boring was that and please, please do not ask me where I used them either.  I did well just leaving them all on the table and writing them down.  You can't have it all lol.

Anyway back to the reason I am here.. what is that again... hmmmm! Right back on track, I coloured him up (on my first attempt but slowly over the course of a week) and then distressed the edges slightly.  I then stuck him down to a beige colour coredinations, distressed the edges and used scattered straw distress ink round the edges and periodically over the image.  I then stuck this down onto two sheets of brown coredinations (2 sheets side by side as one was not big enough) and proceeded to rip and tear.  I just love to tear it up however was mindful about not damaging my work so far.  I then used Spray and Shine very lightly over the image just to give him a little protection.  When this was dry I attached the whole thing to 2mm chipboard.

I then got to the worse bit, fitting the clock mechanism.  I may have managed one attempt at the colouring but the clock hands are another story.... I used sandpaper to scratch up the hands to make them look tatty and guess what the hour hand ended up mangled lol.  After I managed the distressing with all hands in tact I had to fix them onto the mechanism.. after I had made the hole first of course LOL.  Well guess what the minute hand got bent ... how lucky was that just damaging one complete set? I have a spare second hand though lol.  The clock mechanisms I bought on ebay. Anyway moving on... I used these really cute lock and key brads and cannot for the life of me where I purchased them from.  Found them at back of drawer and they worked perfectly.  I have placed them at different angles and distances from the centre.

I am now going to overload you all with pictures ..... SORRY!!!!

Right, now I have bored you all rigid I will get out of here lol.  Please pop over to the Outlawz for this weeks challenges and have some fun.  Actually mine is running til 6th July so plenty of time to get crafting and no excuse....

Marry me, Ice cream and Pickles and New Baby by Krista Smith

Hello everyone

What lovely weather we have had today.  This weekend has been quite good actually.  My daughter came over and we talked 'TWIN' talk all day yesterday.  Today I went to my Dads for lunch being as it was fathers day.  He loved the card, my previous blog entry on here.

I wanted to finish off my big project this weekend for next weeks challenge over at OUTLAWZ.  My first ever challenge set by ME ME ME LOL.  So excited.  Anyway could not finish it off as waiting for some parts to turn up.....Hmmm got you guessing there... well you will have to wait and see huh!

Last week I had an idea for a project (yes another one) and today I put it into action rather than just a thought.  I am calling this HAPPY EVER AFTER.  I have quite a few of Krista's images and I wanted to put three of them together to tell a little story.  I used MARRY ME, ICE CREAM AND PICKLES and NEW BABY. I used the same colour scheme throughout using copics and prismas... my preferred mediums as if you didn't already know lol.  I embossed three pieces of white linen backing card with script and butterflies and used distress ink on them (Tattered Rose) toblend in with the edges of the images. The wording is from TimHoltz Alphabet.  The only other embellishments I have used are pearls from my stash.  I did think about flowers and ribbons etc but felt it did not really need it.  Anyway what do you think of my new creation.  I would love to know...really I would.

Anyway here is the evidence of my blood sweat and tears.

Thats it for me for now.  Thank you for visiting and please call again soon.... pretty please

Gardeners Harvest - Just Inklined

There is a dual purpose for this card.  Firstly I needed to make my dad a card for Fathers Day and secondly I needed one for my DT inspiration over @ Outlawz challenge of guess what--- Fathers Day.  So there you have it.I used the image Gardeners Harvest from Just Inklined and coloured it up using copics and prisma pencils.

I tried to get the veggies looking edible but then again with all that mud and puddles lurking under the wheelbarrow it kinda puts me off LOL.  The slight puddles are glossy accents and the mud consists of Old Paper crackle paint by Tim Holtz.  I found a use for it at last.  It getting so outta date it is like trying to spread MUD lol.  I used an Indigoblu stamp for the clouds in the background. The sentiment was done on my PC and used the Memory Box cloud dies.  They have been proven to be quite handy recently.

Anyway why don't ya all head over to Outlawz - Paper Ala Mode Challenge this week and have some fun.

Double Take - Krista Smith/Saturated Canary

Hi all and I hope everyone had a good weekend.  Mine was not too bad.  Went shopping yesterday as per usual and today has been a lounging day flitting between the laptop and my crafty table.  Oh and the odd cup of caffeine.  I had a visit from a couple of friends too so that was nice.  Been a while since seeing them so all was cool.

Today I am posting a card I made today and it is one of Krista's new images - Double take. Isn't she gorgeous.  Well I think so lol.  I colured her using copics and prismas as usual. I edged her frame using distress ink as inside.  The papers are from Raspberry Road,  I coloured the Roses and butterfly with pale coloured copics on the grey background and covered them with glossy accents to give the backing more depth.  The flowers are from WOC.  The pearls, glass looking stems and lace are from my stash.  .The bow I made myself and the leaves were from a spellbinder die. The sentiment I created in word on laptop.

Well that is it for me today and I hope you enjoyed your visit.  I have a huge project on the go at the moment and I think I may well surpass myself if it comes good.  If it doesn't come good you will not be seeing it LOL.  I am making it for my first challenge post for the OUTLWAZ in a couple of weeks.  I also have 3 commissions to get on with so you will probably seeing those quite soon.  If you wonder where I am I will be the one struggling for the light beneath my stash in the corner of my living room LOL.

Anyway see you soon and be good.  Hugz Elaine xxx

CURRENT CHALLENGE FOR PAPER ALA MODE _ OUTLAWZ

I made these items specifically for the current challenge over at Paper ala Mode @ Outlawz.  The Challenge this week is Anything but a card. This is my first attempt at making a decorative box and tags and here they are.

For the box I used Chipboard, Tim Holtz Coredinations, personal impressions stamps, Tim Holtz Aged Mahogany Distress ink, marabou feather and the flowers (rolled by me) and leaves are spellbinder dies.  The feet and knob on front are glass buttons I found in my stash.  they are old so I felt good recycling them lol.

The butterfly tags consist of chipboard, Coredinations, distress inks, Indigo blue stamp for the grass.  Flower from Tim Holtz die, mesh. large butterfly and and pearls from my stash.

The love tag - Roses are spellbinders, metal butterfly from WOC, lace, wooden heart and butterfly from stash as are the pearls.

Well thats it for me right now.  Thank you for dropping by and hope to see you again.  Please pop over to OUTLAWZ Paper ala Mode for the current challenge  of Anything but a card .

Kanban - Lady Mannekin

Well it must appear to you all that I am having a Kanban stamp fest lol.  I just fancied making a couple of vintagy cards.

I coloured the image using copics and prisma.  I covered the image in a mesh as I did the body of the card.Very difficult to see the colouring of image in picture but believe me I can see all the detail in real life.  i used a lace effect stamp on the backing paper.  The paper came from Raspberry Road.  I used Tim Holtz Milled Lavender round the edges.  The sentiment is from Card Making Downloads. I actually wanted to keep the card simple and that it is what it is.  I used WOC flowers and not too many of them.  I feel the mesh is enough and did not want to overdo it.

Anyway that is it for me today....

Kanban Male Mannekin Jasper

Well here I am actually posting something right here and now.  I have been crafting but having to schedule them for when the challenges go live.  Well at least when they do go live you will all think I am super woman knocking out projects every 5 mins lol.  I don't mind being your superhero at all LOL.

Anyway here it another vintage project.  The image is a stamp from the collection Jasper by Kanban.  Sometimes its nice to use a stamp for a change as you get to choose the outline colour.  I used Coredinations for the matting and the papers are from Raspberry Road.  They had to be distressed which actually DEstressed me LOL.  I love it as it doesn't matter when the edges are uneven lol.I coloured the image using just my prisma pencils and kept the tones sepia. I used scattered straw distress ink pad on a crackle effect rubber stamp over all the layers on this project as well as distressing the edges with the same ink.  I used sentiments from Card making Downloads.  One is definition of Friend and the other is definition of Thank you.I used brads and chain to link them together and finished them off using charms from WOC. I then finished it off with vine ribbon from my stash.  I did not cover this one with flowers so it could be used for a man (well one that appreciates a handmade card... just need to find one thats all LOL)

The inside as usual compliments the front. Sorry for all the pics but just trying to capture all angles so the butterfly charm can be seen properly.  Thats my apology for your possible boredom or you losing the will to live scrolling throught them all LOL.

Thanks for dropping by and hope you call again soon.

Bella Bridesmaid - Jen Leeflang

OH WOW

What an image to work with.  I met Jen through the Outlawz and what a great artist she is.  You can find this over @ Digistamps4Joy. I saw her finsihed project of this image and I just had to have it (like you do ).  I have made this specifically for our current PAM challenge of 1 image, 2 words, 3 patterned papers, 4 embellishments and 5 colours over at the Outlawz. There what a mouthful LOL.  I really enjoyed this card and am so proud of the finished product.

I used copics and prisma pencils for the image.  I used a white gel pen as I wanted her to have a spotted dress... ! I would just like to mention here that I merged Jen's image with Cobblestone path from MIC.  I wanted her to be strolling through life depicting serenity and calm.. LUCKY GAL!

The papers are from Raspberry Road ( I think LOL... if I find out different I will revise that bit!)  I paper peirced round the edges as I couldn't bring myself to get my sewing maching out!.  The corner is a whimsy die and the poppies and clouds are from Memory Box.  The ribbon is from my stash.  As you can see I have used mega amounts of glossy accents on my creation trying to make it POP!  Hope it worked for you LOL....

The inside compliments the front as usual...

Please pop over and join our current challenge at the Outlawz.

FATHERS DAY/MALE THEME OVER AT POODLES PARLOUR THIS WEEK

I made this one specifically for my DT inspiration card over @ Poodles Parlour.  Theme thiS time round is Fathers Day/Male themed card.  I have now found a use for it apart from giving you inspiration to join in the fun (well I hope so!) as I have a friend I can send it to and I know he will appreciate it.

The backing paper is from Vintage downloads.  The clock/cog stamps are from a Kanban set and very useful I found them too. I used brown memento ink to give it the vintage look which suits steampunk.  The sentiment is by Christy Croll.  I coloured the image using my pencils and kept the theme going with the vintage feel.

Come over and join us over at Poodles Parlour for this fun challenge.....
