Two Unintentionals!

Hi everyone, Time for another challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu and it is Asha's turn to chose the theme and that is

That will be quite easy to portray summer in a project, don't you think?

I was going through my late mum's photos for the first time since she passed last year and found an empty journal.  I have never before used one and it was like a sign to get on and make one. She was telling me to.

Well anyway I was playing about with my journal using Dylusions, Distress ink and Indigo blu stamps. Now before I started there was a part of the pages that got stuck together previously and I thought, well I will cover that somehow.

There was no need to cover it.  It looks like a couple of things to me - A pen pointing at the sentiment, perhaps a gnarled finger with long fingernail or a trench/hole in the ground.  Final decision on that made.

While waiting for it all to dry, thinking what to do next, an image popped out of the page to me.  I am unsure as to whether it will appear to you but it has to me and I see it as a sign from my dear lovely Mum.  It is on the left hand page above the grass next to the branches.

If you cannot see it then I will just take it that it is all in my head and just confirms I am mad - not that I didn't already know it!

Now you have my reason for doing nothing else to it.  My Mum is still with me.

Anyway I hope you like my half finished project - well finished to me.

Why not head on over to EE and join in with this weeks challenge.

Hugz and love always to you all

Just a box...

Hi all

I had tried altering this box several times and had all but given up with it.  Why is it sometimes things just do not go to plan.  This started life as an old perfume box.  It then started to be an oriental piece in black and red but didn't like it.  Then I painted it brown with crackled cream over the top - that did not work for me either.  I then collaged it with Da Vinci images on tissue paper and yes you guessed it i didn't like it.

This is the finished product of all my wasted time and it is the final time.  I have to say I am still not all that pleased with it.   I have covered it in K&Co papers, edged it in beige trimming and covered in varnish.  I made the 2 rosettes out of the same trimming.  The inside is also covered in another design from the same stack.  I added 4 lengths of the trim to tuck paper and bits behind them.  I also added another rosette with a couple of pieces hanging down.  Quite difficult to see really.  I have not decorated the box top as I plan to use this to store ink pads so no real point.  Anyway here are the pics......Hope you like it more than I do lol.

Quick Father's Day Card........

Hi everyone...

Unusual for me to post mid week however I had to make a Father's Day card for my Dad.  This was a simple project for me.  My Dad likes his gardening so had to root about through my stamps.  I used Kraft card for the base and layered distressed cream card, burlap and Kraft card for the top layer.  I stamped the wording and little pics of frog, seed packet, pebbles and butterflies all heat embossed using a very fine gold embossing powder.  I used DI and lightly shaded the images.  I finished it off with a hairy twine (can't remember what it is called lol).  All items are from my stash.

That's about it really, such a simple project and write up!

Hugz to you all

Vintage at the Outlawz, Paper ala Mode

Hi everyone

Today I am showing a vintage side of me - well it was required of me to do so.  At first I had no idea what I was going to do as these days I tend to not be into paper craft a great deal so felt stuck!  I just knew I ought to do something different so two tags it was.  I had a few chipboard tags I had cut out at christmas and they were looking at me from my windowsill shouting use me, use me! I just could not disappoint.  Believe it not I found two pictures on the floor which I had originally printed out to transfer to canvas as part of a collage therefore my project was coming together.  Obviously meant to be huh.

I painted and inked the tags and threw a little water of them.  I found two air dry frames my friend had made so they came in handy.  I stick them onto the pics and trimmed off the excess.  I filled one with glossy accents and the other just a little rock candy.  Wanted different effects.  Found some roses in the drawer and edged in ink.  I also found some leaves I cut out previously so embossed them using frantage, copper.  I inked up some lace. I pleated it after inking it up and layered it twice at the bottom.  I printed a couple of sentiments onto photo paper, inked and distressed it with frantage round the edges.  A little bit of spare bling  and lace through top of tag and voila all complete.

Thats it folks.  Why not head on over to Paper ala Mode and join in the fun.  We would love to see you there.

Oh Leonardo....not Di Caprio... Da Vinci!!!!

Hello once again

It is challenge time over at Eclectic Ellapu and this time it is May's choice of theme

Anything with Wings

This canvas was never meant to be like this.  I had transferred a few images of Mona and Leonardo but didn't like it apart from the gorgeous lady at the bottom left.

I lay some modelling paste, a little crackle embossing paste and fine ropey twine on the top. I randomly daubed olive green, red and gold acrylic paint over the textures.  I don't know why I bothered as it cannot be seen lol.

I generously covered the pretty lady with rock candy. I broke the bars of the birdcage so the lovely lady can be seen .......  it had to be done.  I glued a couple of birds on the cage with a rose bud.

The flowers on the right started off as putrid blue and white, awful looking.  I painted them in gold as I did all the embellies, including the jigsaw pieces before stamping the man himself on them.  The clock face with the wings sit behind him... Did not have any single wings in my stash ;-(( so had to improvise.

The heart I cut out using a paper artsy die, triple embossed and mica powders over the top once I had bent and cracked it up.  Finally words were added.  I do hope you like this as much as I enjoyed making it.  Now for the copious amount of piccies.

Thanks for taking the time to visit and hope you will come back again.   Why not pop on over to Eclectic Ellapu and join in with our fun challenge.

Yes I know---- another canvas - YAWN!

I know I appear a little boring with my canvases but hey I just could not resist lol.  This time  I used a canvas picture I bought from a car boot sale last week.  I paid the princely sum of 50p.

This is a mish mash of just about anything laying about in my craft room.

I used modelling paste on part of the canvas and laid alot of different embellies over the paste.  When dry I layered up more embellies.  These were all in my stash and to name but a few there are wooden bits and pieces, flowers, leaves, chain, beads, plaster hearts and clouds, plaster letters to spell out LOVE, string, earrings - the list is endless lol.

I used a web like lace for the other portion of canvas. I painted the entire canvas and embellies using white acrylic paint.   I then cut into the canvas to make an opening.  I glued back the pieces of canvas to look like an explosion.. well it is supposed to look like it lol.

I covered a piece of chipboard using paste and randomly stippled it using my palette knife.  I then sprayed it using a variety of perfect pearl sprays and fixed it behind the opening.  I then used a purple color rub n buff over the texture.  I used the same technique over the entire canvas.

BEFORE

AFTER

Well I hope you can make sense of this piece because I can't.  I just wanted to use some of my stash as it was gathering dust lol.

Thank you for visiting me and I do hope you call back another time.

Time for a challenge for the Outlawz.... D

Time for an Outlawz Challenge over at Paper ala Mode and it is anything goes everyone so pop on over and enter whatever you like.

Well I was ready for a nap but then felt an overwhelming urge to put together a vintage card.  Though it did not turn out to be a card in the end.  I found an image on the internet. I wiped TH ink pad over it, then wet it to look aged.  I then covered the photo in mod podge.

I bought some really old vintage doilies at a car boot last weekend.  One was a little stained so I dyed it using in tea.  Came out just right.  I edged the topper using the doily lace.  I then layered a gold trim on top and finally pearls from my stash.  Actually they were bits and pieces in my scrap box.

Once this was finished I didn't want to use it on a card and decided to make it into a little picture which stands upright.  I can't say it is a picture frame because its not lol.  I just glued a piece of strong card to the back to steady it whilst upright.  You never know I may just use this on another project in the future.

Anyway thank you for dropping by and I do hope you call again.
Why not go join in the fun and take a peek at the wonderful DT projects over at the Outlawz.

Apothecary Shop in Turmoil.......D

Hey everyone

This week it is my choice of challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu and I took the easy option again!

Anything goes

I chose to put together a canvas.  I love working with canvas... oooooooooooooo!

I smothered the canvas with modelling paste mixed with green acrylic for part of background and then added blue for the remaining areas.

I used cogs to imprint the background.  Once dry,  I dry brushed over the raised areas using red.  I then used a gold spray and finally gilding wax in bronze.

I filled the two glass vials with red paint and the other with gold mica spray. The smaller bottle with the red paint appears to have toppled over, look at all that red mess... wheres the cleaner when you need her lol.

The wooden vials, the Bunsen burner, ravens, watch face and cogs had modelling paste wiped over the top to give depth and treated the same as the canvas background apart from the ravens.  They were painted black with rock candy over the top.

I coiled some copper wire from my stash and just randomly placed onto the canvas.

I do hope you have enjoyed your visit as much as I enjoy you visiting me.  Please do call again real soon. Oh and don't forget to pop on over to Eclectic Ellapu and join in with the fun.

Altered Frame...........D

Happy Saturday one and all

The weather is so changeable today, sunny then cloudy, sunny then heavy rain and now just dull and cold.  Where has our summer gone?  Oh yes we had it week before last lol.  Anyway I decided the best thing to do on a day like this is to get ma butt into my craft room and get on with a project.  I have been feeling creativeless for well over a week now and it was worrying me.  I eased myself back into my room last night and put together an easy tag and today I thought perhaps an easy frame may help so here it is lol.

I cast some cherubs using plaster this morning knowing that I would want to use them immediately as they are so so cute.  I had itchy palms to get started.  I have a pile of frames in my room that need something doing to them so I picked this one with the 3 apertures... Perfect!

I painted the background white. the aperture mount board and frame in black.  I was originally going to crackle them with gold but decided against it.  I wanted a different look.  I used a crackle stamp using white ink against the black and black ink against the white.  I then dry brushed my lil cherubs using aged gold acrylic paint and placed them in the apertures.  Voila all done!

Well that is it for today.. well perhaps not, we will see.

Hugz and stuff

Tried something simple...... D

to try get my mojo back.  I feel right at this moment that my creativity has walked out the door.  I hate not knowing what to do next, what style, what project.  So I sat at my table with a blank tag.  I covered the back with distress inks.

Out came one of my stamp boxes - there are so many I have not used yet.  I grabbed the 'I'm so special' set by Katzelkraft.  I used the background stamp obviously for the background lol.  I then stamped and embossed Mr Special himself.  I love him.... just so special!

I then used mica fragments down the side and frantage copper to the left.  I then triple embossed the entire tag to give it a really top shine.  I attached a ribbon with a stapler.  That was it.  Simple and a little satisfying that I achieved something.

Well how simple was that lol.  Instant gratification! well almost instant.

Thanks for dropping by and please please call again.
